The Law

Open Carry is protected by law in all but seven states and the nation’s capital. The states that prohibit Open Carry are Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, South Carolina, New York, Illinois, and Arkansas. Legislation is pending in these states to reverse that law. Most other states require permits to Open Carry but, there are two states that do not as long as the weapon is properly holstered-- this is known as "Constituional Carry." These two states are Alaska and Arizona.
